A Gift for the Service
Throughout history and various cultures, flowers have played a role in funeral traditions. During a funeral or memorial service, flowers add warmth and beauty to the atmosphere. Flowers also provide a visible sign of the sympathy and support that surrounds those who grieve.
Flowers to be placed on the casket are generally the gift of immediate family members. If you wish to provide this kind of tribute, consult the family before sending your gift. It is appropriate for relatives to send standing sprays, baskets, and wreaths. If you are sending a gift to express your sympathy as part of a group of co-workers, friends, or on behalf of a company, a larger floral wreath, standing spray, or basket is appropriate. When sending the gift of flowers to funeral services for a friend, choose a basket, plant, or arrangement.
If you would like the family to be able to take the arrangement home with them after the service, a basket, smaller arrangement, or plant is an excellent choice. This type of gift is easier for the family to transport and more suitable for display in a home.
Arrangements for the service require special care and attention. When ordering, please allow 6 business hours for the arrangement to be florist designed and delivered as requested.
